As with Apple, the rate cut from 30% to 15% only affects the first million dollars a developer earns each year.

The reduced commission will begin to operate on Google Play from July 1, 2021 – six months later than Apple. Google believes that thanks to these changes, 99% of developers worldwide selling digital goods and services on Google Play will see a 50% reduction in commissions.

In November 2020, Apple officially announced that all developers who earned less than $ 1 million in a year from selling apps and in-app purchases in the App Store will pay Apple a 15% commission instead of the standard 30%. The new tariffs began to operate shortly before the beginning of 2021.
