The first thing the developers focused on is the Google TV home screen – it should load faster. It is reported that programmers managed to speed up its launch by optimizing the processor and improved cache management. The update is already rolling out to third-party devices and coming soon to the Chromecast.
The performance boost should also be noticeable when loading the Live tab, scrolling through the home screen, and using the child’s profile. A noticeable increase should also be visible when switching between different screens – this was achieved by optimizing the use of RAM (the system itself consumes less, programs have more).
Separately, the appearance of functions to free up memory is noted (this is especially critical on devices with low memory, including Chromecast) – a menu has been added to the settings that allows you to clear the cache or remove applications. The developers report that in addition to this, the system has an “automated process running in the background” to free up space.
