Google has posted on its blog about some of the new features coming to Android devices. The innovations mainly concern widgets, security and privacy, emoji and Android Auto.
Everyone knows thanks to Family Bell
This feature allows users in the same household to stay on track no matter where they are. Family Bell will take care of all the important moments during the day, remind parents to pick up their children from school, and remind children to go to bed on schedule. And it works not only on a smartphone, but also on a smart speaker, display, and other Android devices. New tasks and goals will be added to the holidays, as well as flexible options for customizing, editing and managing them from the selected device.
More widgets
Three new widgets are coming to Android soon. The first – Google Play Books – allows you to access the entire library of books and shows the progress of listening to an audiobook. The second, YouTube Music, contains playback controls and recently played tracks. The third – Google Photos – decorates the smartphone screen with photos of the closest people, as well as animals in a beautiful frame.
Holiday Memories on Google Photos
Google is launching new holiday memories this week. They will appear in their usual place and will contain carefully selected photos and videos not only from the New Year, but also from the birthday, graduation and other important events. Of course, they can be renamed, edited or deleted.
Android on the go
The Android Auto update brings the ability to automatically connect your smartphone to a compatible vehicle. The developers do everything to keep the user focused on the road. A smart reply feature is coming soon, which will make it easier to send a text message, as well as quickly find and launch music in streaming apps using a voice assistant. Another interesting innovation is locking, unlocking and starting the car using a smartphone. The digital key on Android is still available in some countries. Works with select BMW models on Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S21.
Permission control
Android automatically resets all permissions on the device if the app hasn’t been launched for a long time. Starting next month, this feature will be supported by almost all devices with Google Play services running Android 6.0 and higher.
Emoji Kitchen
Sometimes standard emoticons or stickers are not enough to express your feelings or convey emotions. Emoji Kitchen lets you combine them to create unique combinations. Google is adding thousands of new options that are already available in the beta version of Gboard, and in the coming weeks in the stable version of the keyboard.
