Google has banned ALL call recording apps on Android

Google recently announced new rules for its app store – one of them affects utilities for recording telephone conversations. According to the changes, from May 11, 2022, they will be completely banned from Google Play. This is reported by the publication Android Authority.

The rule change described above concerns the Accessibility API (a set of accessibility tools). Third-party developers began to actively use it to record calls after Android 10 blocked the option to record telephone conversations. The company states:

Accessibility API is not intended and cannot be requested for audio recording of remote calls

The updated rules apply only to third-party applications – if smartphones already have the call recording option preinstalled (as, for example, in the same Pixel or some Xiaomi gadgets), it will not stop working.
