Google hasn’t even released a stable version of Android 12 yet, but it is already working on the rudiments of Android 13 – in the recent update of the AOSP Gerrit project, there was a mention of the codename for the future version of the “green robot”. If earlier the next Android was marked only with the letter “T”, now the new lines clearly hint that T is tiramisu.
Rename T to Tiramisu
PLATFORM_VERSION_CODENAME is being updated from T to Tiramisu.

In the past, Google also gave Android versions official names in honor of various sweets, in addition to the digital index (Android 5.0 Lollipop, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and others). With the release of Android 10, the developers have abandoned the official names for the versions of the “green robot”, but have not stopped using codenames in their internal documents (each new version of Android is a new letter of the English alphabet). So, Android 10 was Quince Tart (quince pie), Android 11 was referred to as Red Velvet Cake, and Android 12 was named after Snow Cone – popular in the USA delicacy in the form of grated ice, drizzled with syrup.
