As it became known, Google has stopped licensing Android for Russian smartphone manufacturers. It is expected that the search giant may impose a ban on sales of Android smartphones of all brands in Russia.
Starting March 23, Google laboratories began to refuse Russian companies for all certification projects. The company does so with the following wording: “US Export Law prohibits the provision of services to Russia, and the export, re-export or transfer of US-origin software and technology to Russia.”
Companies around the world that produce smartphones with the Android operating system must undergo mandatory licensing in Google Labs. Without obtaining a license, the sale of smartphones can be stopped. The source adds that two Russian companies have suspended smartphone licensing.
It is also reported that the new rules of Google may affect sales of phones under the brands BQ, DEXP, AYYA and others. Recall that in Russia they decided to replace the iPhone with a smartphone for 15 thousand rubles: it turned out to be the Russian AYYA T1 from Rostec.
