Google has stopped updating its iOS mobile apps since December last year. Ever since Apple introduced a new policy for the App Store that requires apps to be “tagged” based on the type of data they collect.

Google last updated a number of iOS apps just a day before the new rules went into effect – December 7th. Then 15 applications were updated at once. However, after that no updates for iOS were carried out, although Google applications for Android have since been updated more than once.

Many companies have submitted to Apple, including Facebook. However, Google has been slow to adjust to Apple’s new requirements. Presumably, Google is biding its time as it has seen user backlash against the innovation towards subordinate developers like Facebook.

A Google spokesman told reporters on January 5 that the necessary data will be added to iOS apps “this week or next.” However, this deadline has passed, and Google has not released any updates.
