Google invests $300 million in Sam Bankman-Fried investment

Google Cloud Holding has invested $300 million in AI startup Anthropic. About six months before the collapse of FTX, the founder of the now bankrupt crypto exchange invested in the project through funds.

The figure of $300 million was announced by the Financial Times. The Anthropic team confirmed the information about the Google investment without specifying a specific amount:

“We’re excited to use Google Cloud to train our AI systems, including Claude.”

Anthropic confirmed that they received money from Sam Bankman-Fried (Sam Bankman-Fried) and former CEO of Alameda Research Caroline Ellison (Caroline Ellison):

“The main investor in the Series B round was the CEO of FTX. Also participating were Carolyn Ellison, Jim McClave, Nishad Singh, Jaan Tallinn and the Center for Emerging Risk Research (CERR).”

Bankman-Fried made his investment in April 2022, Crunchbase data says. In The New York Times
notethat of the $580 million raised by the startup, $530 million was from Benman-Fried and associates.

Some users consider this figure even underestimated. One of FTX’s lenders
declared on Twitter that Bankman-Fried’s stake in Anthropic reaches $1.1 billion. In the comments, there was a whole debate about whether he would be in Anthropic
used to pay FTX debts.

Earlier, FTX notified its customers of a new wave of extortion.
