Google is making Chrome more comfortable for large tablets. Websites automatically open in the PC version

Google is experimenting with a handy new feature for large-screen tablets. On tablets with Android installed with large enough screens, the Chrome browser will automatically be able to open sites not in the mobile version, but in the PC version.

The function will allow you to avoid an extra step on such tablets – to manually mark the “Version for PC” option in the browser. Google Chrome will be able to automatically prompt for the PC version of the site if the browser determines that the tablet has a large enough screen. Also, the browser can be guided by the ratio of resolution to DPI (dots per inch).

Members of the XDA Developers community of mobile developers drew attention to the description of the upcoming feature in the documentation. It is noted that the function is now in an early stage of development.

If Google decides to add it to the stable releases of Chrome, then it will be useful for users of large tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. It is expected to be available in Chrome Canary test builds soon.
