Google has begun testing a new feature for its YouTube video service. There are more and more messages on the web about the new comment mode in the YouTube mobile app for Android.
In the application, you can now leave comments visible when watching a video in full screen mode. Previously, in full screen mode, users could not read comments due to lack of space. With the update, the size of the video player has been reduced, and comments are displayed in a “floating” panel. This panel can be removed by sliding your finger across the screen from top to bottom.
Up to this point, users could only read comments and watch YouTube videos on a mobile device at the same time in portrait mode.
Interestingly, not everyone liked the innovation – before, in full-screen mode, the user was “protected” from “toxic” comments, which can often spoil the whole impression of watching a video. However, many people like this kind of multitasking implementation.
For now, Google is doing limited testing and collecting feedback from users before making the feature available to everyone.
