Google is launching the Blockchain Node Engine (BNE) service powered by Google Cloud to help Web3 developers create and deploy new products on blockchain-based platforms.
Google said the launch of BNE will allow Web3 companies to relay transactions, deploy smart contracts, and read or write blockchain data directly to Google Cloud. The first blockchain backed by BNE will be Ethereum.
“Manually deploying a node is a laborious process that involves preparing a compute instance, installing an Ethereum client like geth, and waiting for the node to sync with the network. However, synchronizing a full node from the first block can take several days. BNE will help speed up and simplify this process by allowing developers to deploy a new node with a single operation and specify the desired region and network, main or test,” the blog says.
BNE offers security configurations that can help prevent unauthorized access to nodes. By placing hosts behind a Virtual Private Cloud firewall, only trusted users will be able to interact with endpoints, and services like Cloud Armor will help protect hosts from DDoS attacks.
Recently, Google has notified the community about the expansion of support for cryptocurrency transactions. So, as early as next year, users of Google services will be able to pay for cloud services using digital assets. In addition, support for Ethereum addresses has appeared.
