Google announced during the Google I/O 2025 its new video conferencing platform called Google Beam. THE 3D technology Allows distance -separated people – such as co -workers, friends or family – have more realistic connections through calls.
Previously called Starline Project, the company changed the name already thinking about its commercial launch, which should happen later this year . The proposal consists of a large screen equipped with several cameras that capture various angles.
This increases the precise tracking of head movements by 60 frames per second. On the other side of the conversation, the person will be using the same equipment.
With artificial intelligence (AI) and screens with field and light technology, the video call gains depth, increasing the feeling of realistic interaction. All this without the need for special glasses or virtual reality headsets.
Google plans to make Google Beam available to its corporate customers by the end of this year. The system should be compatible with the same video conference platforms already known as Google Meet and Zoom.
However, the high cost of technology should limit its initial use to high executives who need to meet with partners around the world, avoiding long trips. There is also the potential for use in sectors such as health and education, bringing professionals and users closer to different locations – something that can benefit front line workers in the future.
