Google has released one of the biggest updates to YouTube Music for its Android Auto platform.
YouTube Music has been available on Android Auto for quite some time and is regularly updated with the platform. The app has now been heavily redesigned with navigation tabs and much more added to YouTube Music on Android Auto.
The updated interface for Android Auto is distributed as part of the Android 4.30.50 version of the YouTube Music app, and is quite different from the previous interface.
The biggest change is the navigation tabs at the top. There are four tabs in total, the first of which is the Home tab, which includes shortcuts to recently played media files. There is also a Last Played tab for the most recently played songs and albums. Library includes playlists and saved content, and there is also a dedicated Device Files tab.
It is noteworthy that these tabs are contextual. For example, if you don’t regularly use YouTube Music, the Last Played tab will not appear. The same goes for “files on devices” – if you don’t have music stored locally, the tab is not displayed.
In addition to tabs, the interface also received a large number of visual elements, reducing the need to read the text on the screen.
