Google Messages has new features for greater convenience

Google is adding more contextual suggestions when communicating through its default Messages app. The app already offers helper recommendations and smart answers, and the latest feature is focused on improving performance.

According to Android Police, Google Messages now offers to add a calendar event when chatting with friends, family or colleagues. New suggestions are made when one user proposes a time and date for a meeting.

You can see these suggestions by turning on “Suggested Actions” in the messages that are found in your phone settings. As soon as you click the Create Event button, a Google Calendar popup will appear with pre-filled information. There will also be a small note at the event: “This event was created from a message.”

Android Police reports that other new suggested actions are appearing in Google Messages. One sentence could allow users to quickly start a video call when the application recognizes the words “video call.” There is another suggested action that will search GIFs for specific keywords.

Some users of the app version 7.2.203 and beta version 7.2.204 already have new offers. But if you wish, you can download the updated application here.
