Google Play access tool for Windows 11 actually turned out to be malware

One of the main innovations of the latest Windows 11 update is native support for Android apps. However, many were not very happy with the limited list of applications that can only be downloaded by the Amazon Appstore.

Against this backdrop, a third-party Powershell Windows Toolbox was released that allowed users to directly access the Google Play Store. This was not the only advantage. The software also allegedly could activate MS Office, speed up your OS, and had many other benefits. But in fact, this software turned out to be malicious.

Powershell Windows Toolbox runs malicious scripts after installation and collects sensitive information, including the user’s location. Experts point out that this software poses a serious security risk to those who end up using it.

This tool has been removed from GitHub, and for those who have already installed it, Bleeping Computer has published a detailed guide on how to remove it and what to do next.
