Google Play for Russia allowed to use third-party payment systems

Back in early March, Google Play lost the ability to make any transactions for Russians: purchasing paid games and programs, paying for a subscription, and making in-app purchases. Now, the media have found the official Google help page, according to which Google Play allowed users from Russia to use third-party payment methods – as it turned out, since the beginning of August.

Effective August 2, 2022, the provisions of the Google Play Payments Policy requiring the use of the Google Play Payment System will do not apply to developers who distribute applications through Google Play, require or accept payments from users in Russia during this period of time

However, Google Play still continues to block the download of paid apps and updates for them in Russia (and Belarus).
