For the first time in recent years, Google has released a new app for its proprietary Wear OS (formerly Android Wear) smartwatch platform. What’s more, Google has promised many more surprises for Wear OS in 2021.

The first sign was the Gboard keyboard. Google Virtual Keyboard was already available for Android and iOS and is now coming to wearable devices.
As the developers promise, with the new Gboard, users will be able to easily reply to text messages, search for new applications on Google Play and enter passwords from the watch screen.

Gboard supports multiple input methods – QWERTY keyboard, gesture, or voice. Emojis are also available. The keyboard is able to suggest words so that you do not have to type them completely. The preview screen allows you to view and edit messages. Gboard supports multiple languages and makes it easy to switch between them. By default, Gboard uses the same language as the clock system, but users can change and add languages with a long press on the space bar.
As a reminder, Google released the Gboard keyboard for iOS in May 2016, and for Android in December of the same year. In doing so, it replaced the Google Keyboard (Google Keyboard) as the default keyboard on Android.
