Google removes app permission list from Play Store

Most recently, Google introduced a new “Data Security” section to its Play Store. It gives users more information about how applications use their data. Along with this, the company seems to be removing important information from the detailed description of the application in the Play Store. In March of this year, the search giant removed the “Last updated” string for some users, and is now getting rid of permissions.

For those who do not know, in the detailed description of each application on Google Play there is a separate item “Permissions”, which lists all the necessary permissions. Thus, users can always find out what is required for the program to work even before it is installed on the device. According to Mishaal Rahman, Google suddenly removed this section for all applications.

It is not yet clear why the company decided to make such changes. There is speculation that this is due to the new “Data Security” section, which provides users with information in a simplified form. Apparently, it is there that all information related to security and privacy will be contained, including all permissions for applications.
