Google stopped selling its best budget smartphone Pixel 4a

Internet giant Google has pulled one of its most affordable smartphones from sale. We are talking about the Pixel 4a, released in 2020, which is a “lite” version of its older brother in the face of the Pixel 4.

Google has decided to stop selling the Pixel 4a for good, without further ado or announcements. The fact that the smartphone has disappeared from the assortment of the branded online store Google Store, the authors of the portal 9to5Google reported. However, this is not a complete surprise, since the Pixel 4a has been in short supply for the past few months and it seemed that the company was simply selling off its inventory before finally curtailing sales. Moreover, a new budget Google smartphone with the prefix “a” in the title is on the way. This is the Pixel 6a, which is expected to launch this spring at Google I/O 2022.

It should be noted that many experts called the Pixel 4a the best inexpensive Google smartphone ever. The price of $350, an excellent main camera and a “clean” version of Android with a guarantee of three years of updates made it a first-class budget employee. The device is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 chipset, which is quite fast even by modern standards, has 128 GB of internal memory versus 64 GB for the Pixel 3a, and in addition to this, at the start of sales it was cheaper than its predecessor by $ 50.
