Recall that Google TV is not a standalone OS and not a renamed Android TV, but an additional shell for Android TV. It is used in the new Chromecast media player, which debuted in October 2020.

So, now you can install and run the Apple TV application on Chromecast from Google TV. Google promised back in December that the new Chromecast will have support for Apple TV in early 2021, and in the future it is planned to expand support to other devices with Android TV.

With the arrival of the Apple TV app on Chromecast, users can access Apple TV + content with an Apple TV + subscription, watch Apple TV channels, and watch rented and purchased movies.

Apple TV + TV shows and movies can be added to the list for viewing on Google TV, voice commands are supported by Google Assistant, and so on.
