Gorillaz singer records two songs with MC Bin Laden in Rio de Janeiro

British musician Damon Albarn, lead singer of the bands Gorillaz and Blur, recorded two songs in partnership with MC Bin Laden, on Thursday night (19), in Rio de Janeiro.

The announcement of the collaboration between the two was made by the São Paulo funk singer, this Friday morning (20), via Twitter.

The MC advisory informed the CNN that the two spent about five hours together in the Rio de Janeiro capital, from 6pm to 11pm.

“Bin is super happy, it was a dream come true”, said the artist’s advice.

The studio used was that of Legião Urbana’s guitarist, Dado Villa-Lobos, but the press office claims that the owner of the venue did not collaborate in the recorded songs.

The post-production of the songs will be in charge of the British. Gorillaz are producing a new album, but it is not yet possible to say how the productions with Bin Laden will be released.

THE CNN contacted Gorillaz’s record label for more information, and awaits a response.

Also according to Bin Laden’s adviser, Damon Albarn raised the possibility of the MC participating in a Gorillaz concert in the future.

The band came to Brazil for a series of performances in Curitiba, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

The show in Rio de Janeiro takes place this Saturday (21), at the MITA Festival. However, it will not be this time that the feat will take place on stage.

“Bin Laden has already returned to São Paulo. I believe it’s in the future [a participação]”, informed the advisory.

fan incentive

Earlier this week, a Twitter profile run by Damon Albarn fans since 2010 reported that the singer was asked by a fan, after performing in São Paulo, about why he had never collaborated with a Brazilian artist.

Albarn reportedly said that he “is better with Spanish than Portuguese”, but that he had unsuccessfully tried to talk to MC Bin Laden for a collaboration.

Bin Laden himself responded to the post on Twitter saying that he had tried to get in touch “and so far nothing”.
