Gossip Girl reboot: all references to the original series

In the United States, the first episode of the reboot of Gossip Girl and the numbers speak for themselves: it was the most watched debut, in the first four days after the debut, in the history of Hbo Max, the streaming platform hosting the series. I didn’t expect anything different because we fans of the original Gossip Girl, in addition to being many, we have not been waiting for anything else for years. Waiting to see it also in Italy (it is not yet known where and when it will be available), here are some details unearthed in this pilot that ooze nostalgia from all pores.

THE INITIAL SCENE

The series opens with a girl he is returning to New York from who knows where. How to forget Serena van der Woodsen to Grand Central with a suitcase in hand?

THE CIRCLES

Per Blair Waldorf wearing them means being the queen of Costance and, apparently, very little seems to have changed because they have also returned to embellish the looks of the new characters in a revisited version: a simple woven scarf. Obviously the style details are the ones that pay the most tribute to the original series: there are the same uniforms, Kate wears the same iconic look as Serena when she arrives at New York and there are many of the brands worn by the old protagonists.

His Chuck, Serena e Blair we don’t know anything, but there have been a couple of hints to Nate and Dan. The first is one of the most distinguished alumni of the St.Jude, while the second has fulfilled his dream: he is an established writer.

In the first episode of the original series, Serena e Blair reconcile over a glass of Martini after the famous boarding school escape. And the cocktail also in the reboot returns to bless another union, the one between Julien e Zoya.

BROOKLYN

One of the specificities of Dan Humphrey is that it was of Brooklyn, which made him an outsider to the glossy elite of Manhattan.
