Government added an extra layer of risks to Enem, assesses organization director

Amid suspicion of intervention in the elaboration of the National Secondary Education Examination (Enem), the executive director of the organization Todos pela Educação, Olavo de Nogueira Filho, said that the government added an extra layer of risks to the examination, which is already a risky operation.

“From the point of view of applying the test on Sunday, it is not possible to say that we will have problems. But considering everything already reported, this very intense process of instability within Inep itself and the various signs of interference in the test, there is a context of additional insecurity. It is undeniable that the government added an extra layer of risks to an already complex test”, said Nogueira Filho.

The executive director also stated that Enem’s credibility is a fundamental part of the exam and putting it at risk in this way is serious.

“All this discussion also revolves around Enem’s credibility, which is a test with very objective repercussions in the lives of millions of people. And credibility is the central pillar of this proof. And what sustains this credibility is the issue of secrecy. When there are issues that put this secrecy at risk, in terms of interventions of a non-technical nature, we have a very serious problem”, said the executive director.
