Government announces assistance to Brazilians, but says it cannot rescue

Itamaraty’s Secretary of Communication and Culture, Leonardo Gorgulho, made a statement this Thursday afternoon (24), with guidelines for Brazilians who are in Ukraine at the moment. According to him, “the Embassy of Brazil – or any other country – is not in a position to carry out a rescue operation”.

However, the secretary highlighted the embassies that are on duty in other countries to assist Brazilian citizens who need assistance.

“Our embassies in the region are on alert, the Brasilrsil embassies in Warsaw, Minsk, Bratislava and Moscow are already on duty to provide assistance to Brazilians leaving Ukraine,” said Gorgulho.
