Government boosts spending on commodities boom, delays fiscal risk to 2023

The federal government has signaled that the additional block of BRL 6.73 billion in the Budget should be in the Ministries of Health and Education. In a press conference, the Secretary of the Treasury and Budget, Esteves Colnago, said that it is natural that the cuts come from these ministries, as they are the portfolios with the largest budget.

The blockade aims to meet the spending cap, amid record revenue from the commodities boom and public spending due to the approval of benefits, such as the R$600 Auxílio Brasil, that the current federal administration and the opposition want to keep. next year.

With higher collections, the government’s deficit forecast fell, despite analysts saying that the outlook for 2023 is not so good, as the high collection does not occur due to a structural change.
