Government includes 1.6 million workers in the PIS/Pasep allowance

The federal government announced this Wednesday (16) that over 1,671,810 professionals were considered eligible to receive the PIS/Pasep Salary Allowance, after data reprocessing carried out by Dataprev, a public technology and social security information company.

The company’s systems considered the new rules of legislation and guidelines from the Ministry of Labor and Welfare (MTP) to carry out program eligibility checks.

According to Dataprev, the new beneficiaries are part of the 3.5% (1.9 million) of registrations that presented, in February, inconsistencies in the Rais (Annual List of Social Information) and were reprocessed by the company.

The salary allowance, which is paid annually in the maximum amount of one minimum wage. To be entitled to the allowance, the worker from the private or public sector must be enrolled in the program for at least five years. It is necessary to have had at least one month of paid activity with a formal contract in 2020, receiving up to two minimum wages, on average. Caixa Econômica Federal is responsible for PIS payments, and Banco do Brasil for Pasep.

Interested parties can check the situation through the Digital Work Card application (CTPS Digital) and/or the work services platform on the Gov.br Portal. According to the MTP, the workers who were reprocessed and qualified in this last round are expected to receive the resources on the following dates:

March 29: workers who, in the ordinary calendar, were scheduled to be paid in February;
March 31: workers who, in the ordinary calendar, were expected to be paid in March.

With the new round of analysis, 24,255,660 people were considered eligible to receive the benefit, totaling BRL 22.62 billion, reported Dataprev.

Dataprev analyzed the information of 55 million CPFs that had some registration in Rais or e-Social in 2020. As a result, 24.2 million were eligible to receive the benefit and 30.8 million were ineligible.
