The Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, said this Monday (6), after meeting with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, that he intends to launch in March a special discount card for INSS beneficiaries who are Banco do Brasil account holders. Lupi declared that the idea is to offer the beneficiary’s card to the 37 million beneficiaries of Social Security so that citizens can use public transport services throughout the country.
In addition, banks will offer discounts and establish partnerships with companies to offer exclusive benefits to INSS policyholders.
“Instead of the beneficiary of the Social Security having to obtain a local authorization to use the transport services of that municipality, with the card it will have national validity. We are also seeking new benefits for retirees. BB account holders will have discounts, for example, at partner pharmacies, benefits on airline tickets, hotels and other services”, said the minister.
According to Lupi, private banks will also be sought out to offer similar benefits to account holders who are INSS insured.
