Government launches first public notice for Doctors for Brazil program

The first public notice for the Doctors for Brazil program — launched in 2019 and which will replace Mais Médicos — was published this Friday (31) by the Ministry of Health, through the Primary Health Care Development Agency (Adaps).

The examination board will be the Brazilian Institute of Training and Qualification (IBFC), and around 4,057 scholarship doctors and 595 medical tutors will benefit.

Objective tests will be held in all capitals of the country on March 6th.

The program’s objective is to serve vulnerable, isolated and difficult-to-provide regions in the country.

According to the statement from the ministry, all doctors approved in the selection process will have a specialization in family and community medicine, to offer more quality care to families.

According to the president of the Adaps Deliberative Council, Raphael Câmara, who is also secretary of Primary Care at the Ministry of Health, “in addition to the working conditions being more attractive, the process will select more qualified doctors for primary care.”

The professionals will be hired under the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) regime, in addition to having financial and non-financial incentives provided for in the Adaps Career, Career and Salary Plan and with a base salary of BRL 12.6 thousand, of which the increased compensation for benefits.

Anyone who is registered with the Regional Council of Medicine (CRM) can participate in the program.

Candidates for medical tutors will also require a certificate of completion of residency in family and community medicine or clinical medicine, or even a title of specialist in family and community medicine, issued by the Associação Médica Brasileira (AMB).

Applications start at 10:00 am on January 10th, and end at 11:00 pm on February 6th, Brasília time, and must be made on the IBFC website. The amount will be R$ 53.00 and the ticket must be paid by February 7th.

Candidates who need an exemption must request it between the 10th and 12th of January until 23:00. In addition, the program will allocate 5% of vacancies to people with disabilities.
