The government of Bahia decided to increase the public limit for events and activities in the state from three to eight thousand people. The measure came into force this Wednesday (9) and is initially valid until Friday of the next week, the 18th.
The change covers various types of events, such as weddings, public and private parties, graduations and fairs. Cinemas, theaters and cultural spaces will be able to operate at full capacity, as long as they do not exceed the audience limit established in the decree.
The new state regulations also change the rules for football stadiums. With the change, arenas can be filled to up to 50% of capacity. For this, the need to control the inflow and outflow of fans was defined to avoid agglomerations.
In relation to religious acts, the maximum occupancy of 50% of spaces was also defined, and the public cannot exceed the ceiling of eight thousand people. There is also entry and exit control, and compliance with health protocols, such as the use of masks, gel alcohol and social distance, is mandatory.
For all events and activities, the presentation of the vaccine passport is mandatory. So far, more than 10.4 million people have received up to two doses against Covid-19 in Bahia, according to data from the Agency. CNN, which represents 69.35% of the general population. The booster dose was given to 26.6% of Bahians.

Amid the advance of vaccination and the drop in the numbers of Covid-19, the governor of Bahia, Rui Costa (PT), said this week that there is “a concrete possibility” of holding São João parties in the middle of this year.
The traditional June festivities – ranked among the main ones in the state, and which directly involve the Bahian capital and cities in the interior – were canceled for two consecutive years, in 2020 and 2021, because of Covid-19.
