The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL), made firefighters available to work in the cities of São Paulo affected by heavy rains over the weekend.
A CNN members of the government’s top leadership stated that, if the aid is accepted, the state of São Paulo will have a team with extensive experience in searches available, in addition to equipment and sniffer dogs.
Recently, the firefighters of Rio de Janeiro also sent a delegation to carry out searches and rebuild the cities devastated by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
The specialized team has already acted in tragedies such as the one in Petrópolis, in 2022, the rupture of the Brumadinho dam, in Minas Gerais, in 2019, and the earthquake in Haiti, in 2010.
