The government of the state of São Paulo detailed this Wednesday (3) the calendar defined by the Department of Education for the 2022 school year in the entire state education system.
Classes for around 3.5 million students will take place between February 2nd and December 23rd, in 5400 schools maintained by the Government of SP in the 645 municipalities of the state.
“We will have a complete, full calendar, with children and teenagers from the state of SP returning to study, eating and being protected and supported by the public education system. And this is due to the advance of vaccination. SP has always defended that the vaccine saves”, highlighted Doria.
The state’s calendar for the 2022 school year provides for recesses at the end of the first and third quarters.
Vacations will be maintained in the months of July and January. Two recovery periods are also planned for the holidays between January 4th and 21st and July 11th and 22nd.
According to the government, the “Intensive Study Weeks” continue at key moments of each bimester to reinforce, recover and deepen the learning essential for the students’ educational path.
The calendar also includes dates for bimonthly class councils and planning/replanning and training meetings.
“The total focus will be on recovering the learning lost by our students in the pandemic. On the first business day of January 2022, we will already have recovery classes, as was also the case in January this year. We cannot leave any student behind”, said the Secretary of Education of SP, Rossieli Soares.

• First recess period (end of the first two months): between April 18th and 22nd
• Holiday period (end of the second quarter): between 11th and 25th of July
• Recovery on vacation: between July 11th and 22nd
• Second recess period (end of the third quarter): between October 10th and 14th
• End of the school year: December 23
Calendar by two months:
• 1st bimester: February 2nd to April 14th
• 2nd bimester: April 25th to July 8th
• 3rd bimester: July 26th and October 7th
• 4th bimester: October 17th to December 23rd
