Government of SP authorizes private initiative to build and manage 33 public schools

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), authorized the bidding for the construction of 33 new High School and Elementary School II units in the state. The decree was published this Tuesday (11) in the Official Gazette.

According to the publication, the bidding is organized into two lots, with specific notices for each one. The distribution of teaching units that will make up each batch will be defined by the Department of Education at a later stage.

The concession period for the units will be 25 years for the companies that win the bid. The contracts cover activities that include construction, maintenance, conservation, management and operation of non-pedagogical services at school units.

The implementation of the new teaching units will follow a schedule that foresees three types of schools, with 21, 28 and 35 classrooms, respectively.
