Government of SP makes a mistake and puts public properties such as the Rota headquarters and the HC up for sale

The Government of São Paulo aired a site with the list of public properties belonging to the state, giving the impression that the properties were for sale.

Among the properties announced were the Rota barracks, the Hospital das Clínicas building, the Botanical Garden, the headquarters of the Emílio Ribas Institute and the State Court of Auditors, among others.

On the website, which was taken offline, real estate properties were divided according to their particularities: industrial, rural production, commercial, residential, etc.

In one of the tabs of the portal, its purpose was explained: “the property portal was developed with the aim of publicizing the properties of the São Paulo State Treasury available for sale, with the aim of reaching both those who want to acquire their first property, as well as those looking for properties to invest”, informed the text.

The case was reported by state deputy Carlos Giannazi (PSOL) in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp). A CNN , Giannazi said that he made a request for information to the state government so that clarifications could be provided to Alesp, but had not yet received a response. The deputy also contacted the Public Ministry of São Paulo and the State Court of Auditors to investigate the case.

The Secretariat for Management and Digital Government (SGGD) explained to CNN that there was a mistake. According to the department, the intention was to upload all heritage properties to the website as a form of transparency. However, the layout hinted that they were for sale.

In a statement, the SGGD said that the website “is under construction and, due to a technical error, it aired out-of-contextual information about the state's real estate assets”.

The portal has been taken offline, but should be made available again soon.
