Government prepares MP for first payment of R$ 400 of Auxílio Brasil

The Jair Bolsonaro government is preparing the publication of a provisional measure to pay the first installment of R$ 400 of the Auxílio Brasil as of Friday (10).

A CNN found that the text, which should be published in the Official Gazette this Tuesday (7), will open the possibility for the Ministry of Citizenship to use the remaining resources of Bolsa Família to guarantee the value to the beneficiaries of the new social program.

According to reports made to the CNN, the provisional measure must also deal with the payment of additional installments for the next year. At this point, the government counts on the advance of the Precatório PEC in Congress and its subsequent presidential enactment.

Today, the ministry headed by João Roma (Republicanos-BA) has R$6.1 billion in cash, which, according to ministry technicians, guarantees the payment of between R$400 and 14.6 million to families.

In early November, President Jair Bolsonaro signed a law that reallocated R$9.3 billion from the Bolsa Família budget to Auxílio Brasil, R$3.2 billion were used to pay the social benefit in November. About 14.6 million families received an average ticket of R$220, that is, without the extra installments.

Like CNN showed last week, plan B began to be designed in the face of an impasse in relation to the PEC dos Precatórios, which opens up the fiscal space for the new value of the benefit.

The text, approved on Thursday (2) by the Senate, still needs to go through a new vote in the Chamber before enactment.
