President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) opened an extraordinary credit to the Ministry of Health of R$6.4 billion for the purchase of vaccines. The provisional measure came into effect this Friday (24), but needs to be approved by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate in 120 days, otherwise it will lose its validity.
According to the official gazette of the union: it is authorized, in compliance with the provisions of item I of § 1 of art. 32 of Complementary Law No. 101, of May 4, 2000, the contracting of an internal credit operation in the amount of R$ 6,412,000,000.00 (six billion, four hundred and twelve million reais) to cover expenses to be incurred with the credit.
This Friday was also marked by a debate between the Minister of Health and several companies in the health sector on the use of immunization agents in children.
In an interview with CNN, Renato Kfouri, representative of the Brazilian Society of Immunizations (SBIm) and the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (SBP), stated that we do not have enough vaccines to apply from 5 to 11 years, let alone for adults.
Data from the Ministry of Health show that, in total, more than 75% of the Brazilian population has already received the first dose, and more than 65.5% of people have the complete vaccination schedule – that is, they took two doses or the vaccine. Single dose.
Fiocruz has a partnership with the AstraZeneca laboratory for the production in Brazil of the vaccine developed by the pharmaceutical company with the University of Oxford against Covid-19.
President Jair Bolsonaro also signed on Friday another MP that opens a credit of R$10.5 billion for the payment of emergency aid to the vulnerable and economically impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and for the purchase of vaccines.
According to notes from the Presidency of the Republic, it will open a credit of R$ 4.1 billion to the Ministry of Citizenship for the payment of the aid.
