The Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin, announced this Friday (10) that the Foreign Trade Chamber has zeroed for one year the import tax on six products, including industrial and medical inputs.
The six products that had zero tax were two types of steel sheets, two types of aluminum sheets, wrist models of devices to measure blood pressure and pulse rate, and antennas for radar.
The Foreign Trade Chamber (Res. Gecex 453/23) temporarily zeroed import tax on 6 products today: two types of steel sheets; two of aluminum sheets; wrist models of apparatus for measuring blood pressure and pulse rate; and radar antennas.

The import tax on these products varied between 12% and 16%.
In a publication on social networks, Geraldo Alckmin stated that the measure “gives the industry savings for the acquisition of these items – especially industries that produce value-added items, in addition to medical products – and directly benefits the final consumer”.
We made a mistake: Initially, the report reported that the government had zeroed the import tax on “smartwatch”. The correct one, however, is a wrist model of a device to measure blood pressure and pulse rate. The information has been corrected
