Ukraine has full control of the city of Kharkiv in its northeastern part, the regional governor said today in a post on his social media.
“Control of Kharkov is completely ours! The armed forces, the police and the defense forces are working (for that) and the city has been completely cleared of the enemy,” Olekh Sinegubov wrote in the Telegram.
Ukrainian forces had previously fought Russian troops on city streets.
“Enemy light vehicles have invaded Kharkov, including the city center,” he said. “Ukraine’s armed forces are destroying the enemy. We urge the people not to go out,” Sinegubov wrote earlier.
