Governor of Acre says that “everything will be clarified” in relation to the PF operation

The governor of Acre, Gladson Cameli (PP), published an official note on his social networks about the third phase of Operation Ptolemy III, launched this Thursday (9), which investigates suspicions of corruption and money laundering in his government.

“As the process progresses, the governor is confident that everything will be investigated and clarified,” says the tweet. He also made himself available to the authorities to collaborate with the investigations.

The operation is carried out by the Federal Police (PF) and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), with support from the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and the Federal Revenue Service.

According to the CGU, the targets of the operation practiced fraud in public contracts in Acre with “with resources from health, education and the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), related to the execution of infrastructure works and maintenance services. property”.

The governor was banned from leaving the country and will have to deliver his passport within 24 hours. He will also not be able to have contact with other investigated in the case.

The investigation is underway at the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and constitutes an unfolding of phases I and II, triggered in 2021, when a criminal organization was identified, controlled by political agents and businessmen linked to the Acrean state executive branch.

According to the PF, the servants acted in the diversion of public resources, as well as in carrying out acts of concealment of the origin and destination of the subtracted values, through money laundering.

In this third phase of the investigation, the Federal Police are seeking compensation for part of the amounts diverted from public coffers. In this sense, the STJ determined the unavailability of approximately R$ 120 million, through the blocking of accounts and the hijacking of aircraft, houses and luxury apartments acquired as profit from the crimes.
