The governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (DEM), declared official mourning for three days in the state after the death of singer Marília Mendonça in a plane crash, this Friday (5).
In a post on Twitter, the governor decreed the period of mourning and authorized the performance of the artist’s wake at Goiânia Arena, if this is the family’s wish.
“Three days of official mourning in Goiás. And Marília Mendonça’s wake is authorized to be held at Goiânia Arena, next to Serra Dourada Stadium, so that fans can say goodbye, if that is the family’s wish,” Caiado wrote.

Marília Mendonça was traveling to fulfill her concert schedule when the aircraft fell into a water course near the BR-474 highway, in the city of Piedade de Caratinga, in Vale do Rio Doce, in the west of Minas Gerais.
Also died was producer Henrique Ribeiro, the singer’s uncle and advisor, Abicieli Silveira Dias Filho, the pilot and co-pilot of the plane, whose names were not revealed.
