A chilling find hid a bishop’s palace, as the grave of a ‘vampire’ child was found in the courtyard and contained a headless corpse, buried in such a way that it would not be ‘resurrected’. The discovery was made by accident in Chelm, Poland, by workers renovating a Unitarian bishop’s palace, which dates back to the 13th century and is a cultural monument of the region. According to a publication of Interesting Engineering, they found something like a grave in the yard and when they opened it, they found a skeleton inside that referred to a child. The authorities and archaeologists rushed to the scene, with the latter taking over the investigations. Eventually, it was determined that the skeleton belonged to a child who died of tuberculosis during the Middle Ages and possibly shortly before or after the temple was built.
