Great selfie delivered from Mars with Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter

Space.com has posted a new selfie taken by the Perseverance rover, which also shows the small Ingenuity helicopter preparing for its maiden flight.

This selfie was stitched together from 62 photos that were taken on Tuesday, April 6th. Scientist Sean Doran, who was involved in the processing, noted that he spent several hours to combine the images, as well as eliminate noise, equalize the exposure and bring the final image to such a state.

«Martian rover Perseverance took a selfie with the Ingenuity helicopter, which is about 4 meters away in this image. Photo taken on April 6, 2021, on the 46th day of the mission“, – said NASA representatives.

Earlier, NASA announced that the first attempt at a controlled manned flight on another planet using an Ingenuity helicopter should take place on April 11. In this regard, NASA invites everyone to witness this historic event.
