Greece sends second humanitarian aid to Turkey and Syria

Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Katsaniotis announced that Greece is going to send a second humanitarian aid to Turkey and Syriain order to deal with the consequences of the disaster earthquake.

With a post he made on Facebook, he said that it is about four containers with 50 tonswhile the basic necessities, such as blankets, bedding, heaters, personal hygiene items and medicines, were collected by the “Together We Can” action, KEDE, the Region of Western Greece, municipalities of the Peloponnese, Crete, Kefalonia, Kozani, and others.

THE humanitarian aid will be loaded onto a shipwhich will set sail tomorrow at 09:00 in the morning, from the port of Patras.

And with this second wave of humanitarian aid, following the first one that was transported by ship on Wednesday from the port of Keratsini to Alexandretta, Greece continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Turkey and Syria, who are being tested by the devastating earthquakes.

It is noted that our country immediately responded to Turkey’s request for assistance, as from the first moment Greek rescuers went to the affected areas, while Greek support for the trying people of Turkey was also demonstrated by the recent visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendia.

The responsibility of coordinating all the actions of organizing, collecting and sending the humanitarian material has been assumed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Katsaniotis.
