Greece, the (open) case of the mother suspected of killing her three daughters

The accusation is chilling: a 33-year-old mother, Roula Pispirigou, from Patras, Greece, was arrested forpremeditated murder of at least one of his three daughters, Georgina, 9 years old. But the police have also started investigations to try to understand if the woman is also responsible for the death of the other two daughtersMalena aged 3 and a half and Iris aged 6 months, who died in April 2019 and March 2021, respectively (according to forensic reports) from liver failure and a suspected heart defect.

Georgina had become quadriplegic after suffering violent convulsions in April 2021. She died this year, in January, twenty minutes after being given a lethal dose of ketamine, after spending eight months in the hospital. An examination of her muscle tissue revealed the presence of the anesthetic, but it was not prescribed by the doctors. The nurses then confirmed that the mother had been left alone with her daughter shortly before her death.

According to the indictment, when the child died, the mother was the only person present in the hospital room, and she informed the doctors almost 35 minutes late.

Roula Pispirigou, held in custody in the Korydallos maximum security prison near Athens, Greece, continues to forcefully deny all allegationsbut in the meantime the bodies of his two other dead daughters were exhumed to examine the tissue samples (results should arrive in days).

Pispirigou had also asked for a new blood test for Georgina, but her request was denied. At this point the woman would like to have it performed, at her own expense, in a private laboratory in France.

It has also been recovered a tablet that he had been placed in the coffin next to Georgina, because according to the investigators he could have provided further evidence. He had been buried with the body because, according to her mother, it was the “favorite object” of her daughter. And, in reality, the investigators only found Peppa Pig cartoons there.

The father of the girls ed The woman’s ex-husband, Manos Daskalakis, is convinced that Roula Pispirigou killed all three of their daughters, Malena, Iris and Georgina. But the defendant’s lawyer, Othonas Papadopoulos, guest on a television show, objected: “For such a claim to be assessed, it must be justified. If it’s just the result of the influence of the climate that has been created to the detriment of the accused, then that’s not enough. It is a subjective opinion, expressed prematurely ».
