The plans of the new building complex, which will be erected inside Elliniko and will be the first building of the emblematic investment, were presented at an event held by Lamda Development. Present were representatives of the political leadership, the Attica Region, the Local Government, associations for the disabled and many people.
The inclusion in the design of Lamda Development for Elliniko, a building complex for vulnerable groups, confirms that the emblematic project concerns and supports the whole society.
Caring for people with disabilities and in particular the existence of appropriate care and employment structures is of paramount importance to themselves and their families. The initiative of Lamda Development, the first building to be erected inside Elliniko, to be a building for the disabled, has high symbolism.
The new building within Elliniko, which will house the unions Amymoni, Hermes, Niki – Victor Artant, as well as the Association of People with Multiple Sclerosis, is distinguished for its innovative, “green”, sustainable design, as well as the entire investment. The cost for the construction of the building, amounting to 15 million euros, is borne exclusively by Lamda Development.
Lamda Development’s vision is not only the creation of a modern building, but a new way of life, better quality, easier, more open, more extroverted, which will make the daily life of children and adults with disabilities better.
For this reason, the entire investment of Elliniko was studied, designed and created with special provisions for the disabled.
Work on the construction of the building, which is considered an international standard for Care Units, has already begun and will be completed in 2023.
The event was greeted, in a message, by the President of the Republic, Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, emphasizing: “, is an important step both for our vulnerable fellow human beings and their families who sympathize, and for the proper use of the area, always for the benefit of Greek society.”
The CEO of Lamda Development Mr. Odysseas Athanassiou stated characteristically: “We decided for symbolic, but also substantial reasons, that this building for the disabled is the first one from which we will start the projects within Elliniko. We made this promise and today we are here together to present it to you “.
Representing the Prime Minister, the Deputy Minister of Welfare and Social Solidarity, Ms. Domna Michailidou, said:
The Minister of Development and Private Investments, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, emphasized: “I congratulate Odysseas Athanassiou because what I expected to be done was much less than what is being done. You gave joy to children who need it. You exceeded expectations. You sent an important message that “Europe’s biggest urban regeneration project is not a project that starts with the exclusion of some people, but it is a project that embraces all people. Congratulations.”
