Greek aid to India ready to be sent

Ready to be sent is the help of Greece in India, which is severely tested by coronavirus, with the result that the country’s health system is under suffocating pressure.

More specifically, the Greek Government responds immediately to the request of the Indian authorities and through the European Civil Protection Mechanism, has ready to send 90 oxygen cylinders with a total capacity of 440 liters, as well as medical supplies (masks, gloves and other means of self-protection).

From the first moment of the request for assistance, the Civil Protection mobilized for the supply of oxygen cylinders. The Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, noted in this regard: “It is self-evident that Greece responds to the call of each country for assistance. In this battle that the world community is fighting against the pandemic, our country is present wherever and whenever it is needed. Greece is also an active member of the European Civil Protection Mechanism and actively supports the EU RescEU – we are one of the first countries to participate in the creation of the European Common Reserve for vital medical equipment related to pandemic management . “I sincerely hope that Greece’s contribution will offer relief to the troubled India.”
