The building that will house 4 associations for the disabled (Amymoni, Hermes, Niki, and the Association of People with Multiple Sclerosis – SAMSKP) will be the first building to be erected in Elliniko, in the context of the largest urban regeneration in Europe that is in full swing. The project will begin construction in the spring of 2022 and its completion is expected in the first half of 2023.
According to an information note, this is a modern, internationally innovative building of sustainable design and the goal set from the beginning was to fully and respectfully meet the essential and functional needs of the disabled citizens to whom it is addressed.
The project has gone through an extremely complex and complex design and licensing process during which Lamda managed to overcome many obstacles and make decisive progress in the implementation of the project. A typical example was the need to relocate an existing main rainwater drain found at the site. The relevant works started in September 2021 and will be completed in December, while the study prepared by Lamda had to be considered by the technical works directorate of the Attica Region and by the Central Archaeological Council.
As indicative elements of the very large volume of studies and licensing, it is stated that more than 10 studies were required (including sustainable design, pipeline transportation, altitude, etc.). It also required communication and cooperation with a number of public bodies and the wider public sector such as KAS, KESA, Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Health, Natural Gas Distribution Company, Attiko Metro.
The construction of a new building for our fellow citizens who need special care, in the area where Elliniko will be developed, is another confirmation of Lamda’s vision that Elliniko will benefit the entire Greek society.
