The move follows a decision a week ago by the Russian Supreme Court that removed the Taliban from the list of “terrorist” organizations of the Russian Federation, another step with a particular symbolism. “The Russian side has decided to raise the level of Afghanistan’s diplomatic representation to Moscow to the ambassador,” the Russian Foreign Ministry explained in a press release.
