Green light to visits to the RSA, the minister signs the ordinance

Guests of many for months residences for the elderly they do not meet their loved ones: only video calls or greetings from the other side of the glass. The lucky ones had the hug rooms, but always with plastic separating from contact. Isolation and loneliness have joined the fear of illness.

Today, however, the most awaited news: «I have just signed the ordinance that will allow visits in complete safety in all RSAs. I thank the Regions and the Scientific Technical Committee who have worked in harmony with the Ministry of Health to achieve this important result.

It is still necessary to maintain the utmost attention and respect the rules and protocols provided, but we share the joy of those who will finally be able to see their loved ones again after the distance necessary to protect them ». So wrote the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza on Facebook.

The document takes effect immediately and so now (finally) it will be possible to enter the RSA (but also hospices, communities and rehabilitation structures). Obviously with caution: in fact, only visitors in possession of Green Covid-19 Certification are allowed, i.e. it will take either the certificate of double vaccination, or recovery from Covid or, again, of a negative swab in the last 48 hours.

“Taking into account the importance of assistance and the psychosocial well-being of the residents, the possibility of scheduled outings for guests and returns to the family must be guaranteed. The planned exit of the guests “, reads the ordinance,” requires specific regulation by the managers also in relation to the clinical stability of the resident and his level of autonomy and fragility, as well as for specific rehabilitation needs. It is always necessary to sign a pact of mutual responsibility between the structure and the guest or legally representative figures “.
