‘Green’ University facilities from MAS SA and the University of West Attica

MAS SA, a leading technology company with 45 years of experience in the design and development of automation systems, power management and energy, collaborates with the research staff of the Laboratory of Mild Energy & Environmental Protection with the support of the Special Research Account (ELKE ) of the University of West Attica (PADA) The aim of the partnership is to promote sustainable resource management through the creation of “Green” University facilities.

The University of West Attica has many years of theoretical and practical experience in soft and clean energy technologies. It has already developed in its facilities modern energy infrastructures that support the educational processes, while at the same time covering part of the daily energy needs. This new project will further develop the facilities of the institution, since its object is the optimal management of the energy and water grid, and will be carried out with the participation of MAS and the National Technical University of Athens (School of Civil Engineering, Laboratory of Applied Hydraulics), while funded by the Research-Create-Innovate framework.

MAS will play an active role in a range of activities around the development and promotion of innovative RES solutions, energy storage, clean electricity and intelligent energy management, utilizing the University’s research infrastructure to develop solutions that can be applied directly to the community. The company will offer the know-how and training of its experienced executives, all the necessary technological equipment to complete the project, as well as the overall management software, the Across Digital Energy Ecosystem. It is a unified digital energy system for the whole chain of the Energy sector, from production, storage, transmission and distribution to consumption.

More specifically, the Energy Management Suite (EMS) of Across, will be responsible for the simultaneous management of the various units of production, storage, and control and distribution center, gathering data and contributing to the efficient planning of production and supply of energy in electronic net.

Through this program, students will have the opportunity to be exposed to real working conditions in the Energy sector and to gain practical experience in tangible examples of energy management. At the same time, MAS will have the opportunity to apply and further develop its advanced technologies in a complete and special in terms of needs and uses research electricity grid.

MAS provides a range of services, state-of-the-art equipment, innovative software technology, know-how and training, offering applications and solutions in the field of energy management. Through the modernization of existing power plants and distribution and the promotion of solutions for the integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in the electricity generation process, it actively participates in the technological transformation of the Energy sector and the promotion of sustainability and green growth.
