One man of Greek nationality died after being shot during a robbery on Sunday night (6), in the city of São Gonçalo, Metropolitan Region of Rio.
According to witnesses, the car the man was driving was intercepted by criminals on the RJ-104 highway, near the Marambaia neighborhood. During the approach, the bandits shot. The shots hit the rear-view mirror and the vehicle’s window.
Inside the car was the 46-year-old man, identified by the Civil Police as Meletios Barmpas, as well as his wife and a son.
He was taken to the Alberto Torres State Hospital, located in São Gonçalo. He underwent surgery, but did not survive and died.
The Niterói, São Gonçalo and Itaboraí Homicide Police Station (DHNSG) is investigating the case. Agents look for images from security cameras, listen to witnesses and take steps to identify the person responsible for the crime.
On Monday morning (7), an examination was carried out on the vehicle that was in the hospital parking lot.
